Kara Franklyn was born in Southern California but grew up in Walnut Creek where I went to school there, fought and played with my brothers and sister there, had my first heart broken there and made lifelong friends that no matter where I live will always be there for me! I have lived in several cities in California. From Monterey to Tahoe, DisneyLand to the San Francisco Zoo, it just doesn't get much better! I am married to my best friend, Pete makes me laugh, think and care about what is happening in our world! I am blessed to have family and friends who care about me and laugh at my really dumb jokes!!
I love the summer series of Modesto's music in the park! Every Thursday night at 8pm the great sounds of Moband can be heard throughout Graceada Park. It's always fun! Some people go to the park before they go to work and set up their blankets so they have their space saved. People bring picnics, kids, chairs, it's truly a community event. And it's FREE! Every Thursday it's a different theme and this week, get ready, break out the Angel Flights, blue eye shadow and Calvin jeans......it's Disco night!!!! Oh ya!!! Yes, I must admit, I am a disco fan! There are certain songs that come on the radio that I just have to turn up and sing along in my off key non American Idol auditioning voice!! I know that there was a big "hate" against disco in the 70's. I heard they had burning parties where they burned disco albums, but I wonder if now some of those people don't hear a Donna Summer song, Gloria Gaynor or The Bee Gees and don't find themselves starting to move just a little!! So this Thursday night, I already marked it on the calendar and hopefully you do to, Moband concert in the Park featuring Disco!!! I'm thinking of making it a theme night, what goes with disco music?!! Angel Hair pasta? Ha, ya, I went there!! I hope to see you there! It will be a fun night and did I mention, it's FREE?!!!
