Kara Franklyn was born in Southern California but grew up in Walnut Creek where I went to school there, fought and played with my brothers and sister there, had my first heart broken there and made lifelong friends that no matter where I live will always be there for me! I have lived in several cities in California. From Monterey to Tahoe, DisneyLand to the San Francisco Zoo, it just doesn't get much better! I am married to my best friend, Pete makes me laugh, think and care about what is happening in our world! I am blessed to have family and friends who care about me and laugh at my really dumb jokes!!
Not only do I keep you company at work during mid-days but I also get to to work with non profits groups in our community! We have a public service program that the powers that be actually let me take a part in! It's one of my favorite things. Seriously! I love the positivity and the passion that I see in these people that represent all sorts of different organizations! I've also started to become friends with some of them and one one of my favorite couples came in today, Ernie and Connie Pinkston! They with the help of many others started the Modesto Dog Park. From practically the beginning of their adventure I was on the sidelines, watching them get this park together! It was amazing the amount of hard work and joy they had for this project. Of course, their four legged furry addition helped them along the way! When they adopted Gracie, (a beautiful German Shepard) they realized there weren't any real dog parks in Modesto. Thus the journey and now they are celebrating their one year anniversary with a chicken barbecue dinner!! Tickets are just ten dollars and all proceeds go towards the park preservation fund! Saturday, June 29th from noon to 6pm you can drive in and pick up some yummy food and not have to worry about what to cook OR do dishes!! My kind of a day!! And like I said, all proceeds will go towards the Park Preservation Fund! If you haven't checked out the dog park you should, it's at 601 Morris Avenue and what I love is the fact that even tho it's a dog park, it's also a people park, people start to chat with each other and soon you get to know your neighbors, make friends and for some, (so I've heard) make a "connection!" And it all started with 2 amazing people who loved their dog so much!! So get your tickets quick because even tho the barbecue is on the 29th, they need a count by the 15th! Call 521-38-57 and I was told by Gracie herself the meal was four thumbs up! Heeee!
