40% of U.S. workers have dated someone who works in their office, with 31% eventually getting married, according to an office romance survey from CareerBuilder.com. Want more? Of course you do:

• 10% work with someone they would like to date.
• 18% have dated a co-worker twice or more at some time in their careers.
• 14% of men, but just 5% of women, say they would like to date a colleague.
• Of those who dated a co-worker in the last year, 33% said it was someone with a more senior position in the company. Of these, 42% have dated their boss.
• Nearly 75% said they did not have to keep their romance a secret.
• 7% said they had left a job due to an office romance

A HORRIBLE BOSS

Most of us have had to endure a horrible boss at one time or another--and if you haven't, just wait. Stay in the workforce long enough, and it's bound to happen. The employee-boss relationship can be quite volatile, causing hostility, stress and declining performance. Florida State University business professor Wayne Hochwarter, who has spent his professional career studying bad bosses, says the problem is the worst it's ever been, primarily because employees who have bad bosses don't have many viable alternatives in this tight job market. Hochwater interviewed more than 400 mid-level employees from a variety of industries about their views on the changing face of work. Their responses revealed some strongly negative opinions. if one or more of these describes your manager, you have a horrible boss.

• 42% of employees reported that their boss was concerned more with saving his or her own job than with developing and assisting employees to be productive.
• 42% said they failed to receive things that were promised more than once over the past year. More than 25% said they failed to receive things more than five times in the same time period.
• More than 40% of workers said they would not acknowledge their boss if they ran into him or her on the street.
• 40% agreed with the statement that "the only fun thing about work is leaving."
• 34% reported that their boss is "two-faced," in that he or she is nice in person but speaks negatively behind the employee's back.
• 32% indicated that they work for a "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde."
• 29% felt that their boss would "throw them under the bus" if it meant saving the boss's own job.
• 24% caught their supervisor in a direct lie but never received an apology or explanation.
• 20% have heard a supervisor tell a co-worker that he or she could "get them fired if they wanted to."

THINGS A MOVIE THEATER EMPLOYEE WON'T TELL YOU

1. Why does it smell so good? The popcorn has chemicals in it to make its aroma fill the theater.
2. For the first month or two of screening, money from ticket sales goes to movie studios. Theaters rely on concession stands to make money. That's why concessions are overpriced. Popcorn costs almost nothing to make.
3. I know all the methods you use to sneak in. I just don't always care enough to kick you out for it.
4. The only foods I trust are the popcorn, drinks, and boxed candy. I wouldn't eat the pretzels, hot dogs, or nachos.
5. Chances are, if you complain to the manager and he sides with you, he's just putting on a show to calm you down. The manager might pretend to yell at me for a minute, but he'll pat me on the back the moment you're out of sight.
6. Combination deals don't save you money at some theaters. You'd pay the same price if you purchased the items separately.
7. Think you're saving calories by ordering a small popcorn? That "small" popcorn could have been a medium last month.
8. Stop getting angry that your food isn't ready. Microwaves can't cook frozen pizzas in 30 seconds!
9. No, I can't give you extra cups. Everything is inventoried at the end of the night.
10. Your suspicions are correct. Sometimes I sweep excess food under the seats. Movies often end every few minutes. Sometimes, three or more screenings end at the same time. I don't always have time to clean everything up.
11. Yes, movies start late. But they almost always end on time-otherwise, the ushers wouldn't know when to clean up. Theaters tell you to come in early so you have time to watch commercials and previews.
12. Popcorn keeps for a day or two. Many customers confuse warm with fresh.

BEST DAY TO SHOP FOR GREATEST SAVINGS

You may prefer to shop on Sundays because it fits your schedule best or you choose Tuesday afternoons because it's less crowded. Maybe it's time to rethink your strategy and instead shop on the day that offers the best deals. What day is that? It depends on what you're buying. SmartMoney figured out the best days for the deepest discounts. That means that prices for the exact same item in the exact same store could be lower on Sunday than it is on Wednesday. Here is SmartMoney's advice on what to buy on which days:

Sunday
Appliances: Prices for washers, dryers, ovens and refrigerators are about 1 percent to 2 percent cheaper on Sundays, which works out to about $10 saved on a mid-range model.
Groceries: While most grocery stores publish their weekly sales circular on Wednesdays, Sunday is the best day to shop. Clip coupons from Sunday's newspaper for more savings.
Personal Care Items: You'll find the best deals on toothpaste and deodorant at the drugstore chains on Sundays. You must go early to get the best deals.
Skirts and Dresses: Skirts sell, on average, for 77 percent off the retail price, while dresses are discounted, on average, 54 percent.

Monday
Cars: Cars are cheapest on Mondays as dealerships are more willing to negotiate. This holds true whether weekend sales were lackluster and they want to makeup for that or whether weekend sales were robust and they want to continue it.
Electronics: Computers, televisions, digital cameras and even video games are between 2 percent and 4 percent cheaper on Mondays.

Tuesday
Airfares: Since most domestic fares are posted on Monday evening, there is a scramble Tuesday morning to match prices. The number of cheap seats peaks at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Thursday
Clothing: Both brick-and-mortar stores and online retailers tend to begin their weekend sales on Thursday. You'll find the best deals and the most in-stock items. However, there are exceptions. See Monday.

Saturday
Books: Books are 11 percent cheaper on Saturdays; they are priced at their highest on Fridays

90% of cell phone users ignore their incoming calls, and the calls that are most frequently ignored are the ones that come from loved ones -- not strangers or work colleagues, according to a study from Britain's University of Salford. The top 10 reasons for not answering a cell phone:

1. Did not hear the ring
2. Driving
3. Feeding a pet
4. Unable to speak
5. Busy in the bathroom
6. Can't find the cell phone
7. In a meeting
8. Didn't recognize the number
9. Not in the mood to answer
10. Others might overhear

Study leader Dr. Ashley Weinberg, who is author of "Surviving the Workplace," says we ignore incoming calls that we sense will be long and involved and take more effort. But not answering a cell phone comes with a price. It breaks an unwritten psychological contract, since we're not living up to our family and friends' expectations, asserts Weinberg.

Using cell phones or text messaging in mid-conversation or during an appointment or meeting is one of the "Terrible 10 Rude Behaviors" issued by Johns Hopkins University. For what it's worth, many rude cell phone users at least are aware of their shortcomings. Cell phone users acknowledge that the devices encourage them to drive dangerously and behave rudely, but they also said the devices are increasingly hard for them to do without. Rounding out the Johns Hopkins list:

1. Using cell phones or text messaging in mid-conversation
2. Erratic/aggressive driving that endangers others
3. Taking credit for someone else's work
