Born Paul Kevin Jonas II, guitarist and vocalist Kevin Jonas is the oldest member of Jonas Brothers. Originally conceived as a solo project for Nicholas Jonas, Jonas Brothers formed after Kevin, Nicholas, and Joseph Jonas began writing and performing songs together. Kevin, a self-taught guitarist who first picked up the instrument at age 12, took a role as the group's lead guitarist and backup vocalist; his work appeared on both It's About Time, the group's debut album, and Jonas Brothers, the self-titled follow-up that he helped produce.
