With her album Only a Whisper Away, singer Denise Rosier attempted to cross the boundary from Christian music to mainstream pop. The LittleBun Records release was produced by Keith Rosier, a bassist and author of four instruction books who is also her spouse. The vocalist was raised in California's Orange County, although her birthplace is Japan. During her youth she was a student of dance and voice. In 1990 she and a few friends started performing in their own folk band. That same year she also ventured into rock music as a member of the band Innocent. After she wed, she decided to pursue a career as a solo recording artist.
