The project Deje Blue began while David Wiedmeyer, Jonathan Grant, and Ezekiel Hall started playing together at their Minneapolis high school. When drummer Emiel Gregor joined in 1999, Deje Blue started working on its own music, combining different influences to originate an interesting style, mixing Latin grooves, hip-hop, reggae, and alternative.
